With the Redskin win, would it have made a difference.

No. Here’s to hoping Chili can trade for McNabb.

Why would we bring in another QB with NO shot at taking the purple to the big game??? There are many veteran QB’s in the league who aren’t capable of taking ANY team to the Super Bowl, and McNabb is one of them!

I for one do NOT want to see McNabb here. I’d stay with TJack another year first. Get some recievers with hands, and trade for a coach with an OFFENSE that can use the talent.
You think Belichek would like to try to build the once PURPLE PEOPLE EATERS back into the feared force the once were?

I agree that the listed might not be good for the vikings, but thank you for proving a point I’ve been making with a couple people behind the scenes. A certain purple team wins..and lets all praise those guys. Then that same team of the same guys loses and they should all be fired…

I’m not very surprised that the Vikes lost. I am very surprised that they found their legs late in the game. T Jack played what will likely be the best game of his career, we’ll see about that later. I’m still curious why everyone suddenly though the Vikings were going anywhere. Oh yeah, they won 5 in a row…Against who again? And those were not crushing, decisive wins. A win is a win yes, but win a few with authority and people will look a little more seriously at your team. With 8-9 men in the box last week, I don’t think anyone took Mn seriously.

Maybe next year will be the true turning point for the Vikes. Let’s assume they somehow find a good QB and a couple receivers that have hands. Keep the O line they have and the running game will be fine. I’d personally trade AP while he’s got the illusion that he’s a great back. I’ll eat that statement if it comes back to haunt me but I have a nagging suspicion that he will be a flash in the pan. If you’ve noticed teams have taken him away quite effectively by taking away straight ahead running lanes, the kid can’t start out in any direction but straight ahead. Just a gut feeling but I suspect that other back they have, what’s his name again, is a more solid back.

But what a good end to an otherwise bland season for Mn. At least the fans got some good weeks and hopes in. That is after all what it is all about, entertainment. As is this post. Some will agree, some will flame me. All in all, I find it entertaining. Until then…

I guess I have always thought AP was more of a bounce it outside kind of RB, not straight ahead power runner ? This year turned out exactly as I figured it would early in the season, .500 at best. One and out in the playoffs isn’t anything to brag about anyways. You never heard me talking about playoffs… why would I want one more week of let down ?

Like i said, I might eat what I said about AP. But in thinking about it teams haven’t struggled to shut him down in recent weeks yet have allowed that other fellow to run. As the GM I’d have to be taking a huge look at my options with him. Call it a hunch but it is possible Peterson is worth more now than he’ll ever be. I’ve noticed on more than one occasion that he needs to take off straight ahead or he doesn’t gain yards, and he has a hard time making cut backs. Maybe another year and some coaching will do. We’ll see. Next season, lol.

The AP statement is a bold one but possibly premature. I dont see him as another Barry Sanders but the kid hasn’t matured yet. Nobody has stolen the entire season as a rookie RB so it’s not really an accurate assessment to mentiion how easily he’s been stopped. He’s still got some growing up to do and if he figures out how to spot a good cut back like Taylor’s been demanstrating, he’s got power and speed. But, as you say, only time will tell. At the least, keep AP because if Taylor gets hurt (again), he’d make a nice substitution.

TJack is not showing the poise of those few awesome QB’s we have throughout the league. But, he’s 8-4 as a starter. That’s still less than a full season of play experience and it’s still a pretty good “rookie” record. We’ve been needing “superman” for so long that I think we’re being a bit over critical. We’re tired of losing!!! But, in the big picture, the Vikes let Johnson go before his prime……. SuperBowl Ring + 2 Championship appearances. Rich Gannon was let go before he developed and he lost his SB apperance to Johnson’s Buccaneers. TJack deserves a chance to develop and if he can mature in his decision making/telegraphing, he’s got legs when he needs them and an arm that really fires a ball! We have to “big picture” TJack and give him at least one more season to mature into his game. Likely another 2.

Williamson, GONE. If anyone deserves a ticket on the bus home, it’s Troy. This is PRO football and wide open throws that land on the numbers are ALWAYS caught. IF not, you’re expendably replaced. That’s just life at the top. Do it or step aside. He’s had plenty of development time with the Vikes and it’s time to let him make or break his future elsewhere. If he can’t get a grip on this lesson without going through a release, then he’s still no good here. Let him go.

Coaching staff……. I’m not tickled but I don’t know. The players have botched up enough opportunity themselves that it’s hard for me to say anything. However, at 3-6 I was ready to show ’em the bus. At 8-8, I wonder if there’s hope for the program or not? It’s not half good and it’s not half bad and it’s still better than last year. So what do we do??? I dunno. But year 3 had better be good or I’ll be right back on the new staff bandwagon!

Keep in mind 3 of the losses were to:

    Kansas City

    Detroit

    Denver

Three of the worst teams in pro football.

Childress? I don’t need to see anymore. I saw enough of him last year to know what we have here.

Never would I say I miss Denny……….but Tice is looking pretty good right now.

Why not Billick? He has a Super Bowl win. Guy can’t be completely bad.
