Head to Everts. I think someone else from Nebraska was heading up there today to break in a new Lund.

My thoughts exactly. I also think the stupid ‘weather channel’ is purely funded by an optimists group. I wish I could swing a job where I was wrong A LOT and still get paid like those clowns.

I just heard the weatherman here in the cities blabbing about a “string of 40’s” being in our future….not sure if it will happen or not, but I have instructed Rootski to wax his boat just in case!

Sorry, couldn’t resist. As I look outside and see the forecast for next week, I don’t think there are going to be any do-overs. One thing is for sure, in my son’s five years of his life, this is the coldest winter on record (his record). Now it needs to warm up just a little, so I get the gumption to go do something useful, like ice fishing.

Apparently he didn’t say it was a stone cold lock!

At least I got to test out my new Snosuit today. It was outstanding. That’s about the only thing I can say about this weather. My lab had ice forming on her nose so she had to go back in the house. She’s not buying the January thaw theory either!

“I think someone else from Nebraska was heading up there today to break in a new Lund.”

Went to Evert’s and had too much fun running up and down the river for 5 hours breaking in the new motor. It was a little cold for the wife but she insisted on going for the first boat ride. Great time and Dean at Evert’s is a first class guy. He even got the joke about “Frodo”.

To post a good picture of a buck that we harvested and have others take an educated guess of what it scores? I would post this with a pic but I DON”T have one. Of course you would have to know the score of your buck but I think it would be fun to have the rest of us take a swing. Maybe let it run for a day and then give up the actual score. GROSS numbers of course.

I ended up with about 25 pictures of this buck when he was alive. I was thinking he would push 160 gross. Then I saw him while I was hunting once and while I was cutting wood 3 or 4 times then I was thinking upper 160. He has a green score of 174 3/8 gross and 164 5/8 net. This was scored by an official scorer. This is my Brother in laws first buck with a bow and the second buck of his life. Pretty tough buck to top.
