Thanks for all of the replies reguarding wolves. There is so much I don’t know about these animals and thier capabilities. Tom, some very disturbing info. I guess the fact that I was just so used to being on the top of the food chain this has been and will be a very hard pill to swallow.

It’s not legal to have a handgun on you while bow hunting is it?

I do not know about WI but it is not legal in MN while bow hunting to carry a firearm.

It is if you have a Conceal Carry Permit.

Steve, I believe it is not legal even with a C&C.

It was at the time I took my Advanced Hunter Education. CC laws apply while on the street or in the field. Forensics can prove very easily if you take a deer with a gun vs. a bow.

    The MN hunting laws state:

A person may not possess a firearm while bowhunting for deer. A person may take bear, elk and moose by archery while in possession of a firearm.

The laws don’t say anything about C&C.

You are right…If you do not have a CC, you cannot carry a firearm into the woods bowhunting. The Conceal Carry laws state I can carry my handgun.

I asked the DNR last spring about carrying a handgun during hunting and they told me that I can carry during any season not specifically stating it is illegal. The sidearm has to be in plain view though unless you are some type of LEO that allows for concealment. I’d still suggest checking before going afield if you want to make sure you are legal.

What I said earlier was in referance to Wisconsin. I’m no ‘Sotan but I suspect you know that.

I was in a meeting at work on Tuesday a.m. around 11:00 when someone in the office said there was a T-wolf outside. We are on the 3rd floor and surrounded by windows. I work as far south a guy can in Sartell right across from Hennen’s Furniture on Hwy 15. I have never seen a wolf in the wild personally but everyone in the office who saw it 10+ people will say it was a T-wolf. I’ve seen a bunch of yote’s in this area and if it was a yote it was the Biggest Yote that i have ever seen.

this is literally 5-10 mins from downtown St. Cloud
