So my cousin sent me this photo and said he knows for sure it is real and it was taken in trempaleau co. Scary to think that that not far from me!

Unless he has the camera in hand that took those pictures then he has been duped as well. I got that picture along with 4-5 others in the same set almost a month ago in an e-mail claiming they were taken in Wyoming. Others have them from their back yard. Very cool pictures just too bad knows where they actually originated.

Yep, those have been circulating with differing stories for a couple years. Pretty kitties though.

I heard those “cougars” were cruising Loring Park, looking for a meal!

Them cougars have gotten more attention than any other cougar I’ve met!

The pic may not be local but know this, I’ve seen cougars as close to you as Roberts, WI with my own eyes! The numbers are low and the sightings are few but big kitties do roam through our area. Last one I caught wind of left a trail of sightings from South Dakota, thru MN, thru WI, and was finally shot and killed in suburbia Chicago. Back in 1987 there was a known breeding pair being monitored by the WI DNR up in the Blue Hills State Forest, east of Rice Lake, WI. Don’t believe for a second that cougars are non-existant in our area or that the one’s seen are just lost pets. They’re for real and they’re around.

In MN can we shoot one if it walks by? Is it legal?

Just asking the question. I wouldn’t want them in the area I hunt deer. If they got on the prowl they’d run the deer right out of there. Just like having a stupid azz dog running woods. Pushes deer out.

You should see what they have done to both the deer and elk in the Black Hills. It’s getting very sad out there.

I’m not doubting anyone here but why have they not been caught on trail cams yet in MN or WI? I think it would be fairly easy to prove with a picture, simply bring the CO or CO’s back to the photo sight to match it up. Done and done.. This must mean that nobody out there has caught one on camera??? I have a hard time understanding that one.
