I never used a bleat can or any type of doe call. I’m thinking about picking up a bleat can. When is the best times to use a bleat call? Will does come into a bleat call?
Whats everyone’s favorite bleat can? Thanks for the input!

Squeeze bleat works good all year because you can control how long and loud the call is. Great for a meat hunter, but I haven’t really brought in a lot of monsters with it.
I have a Primos “big can” and I have issues with the sound being smooth. If my hand shakes even a little it sounds like I did at 3am in the college days. Maybe need to look into a squeeze type.
That said, I did pull out 3 bucks from the brush this fall. Saw them all run in,, bleated,, they all came right back out and right to me. I think it’s like anyting else, works at the right time with the right animal.
I have had great success w/ the can. Sept and oct are great times to bring in curious bucks or does. Once the chasing starts, i think that it doesn’t have an effect on does because there is more than likely going to be a buck close by and the does are trying to steer clear of them. There is a time and place for these calls. Right now through the end of november are a great time to use them. You can know for sure how effective they are when you see a deer and call to it. Depending on its response should determine how useful it is at that time
I used the can occasionally the past 3 days with minimal sucess on bucks. I did call in a few does with it though, and now one of them is in my freezer
I have a few different sized cans. They are my favorite thing to use to try to draw a buck in that may pass out of range.
I just purchased one last night myself. Going to give it a try this weekend. I have heard mostly good reports on there use. Hope to give you a more glowing report after Wed. Good luck to you and let us know if you have any success using one.
I do not go in to the woods with out one during end of October to Mid December. Although deer are curious and doe belats can be effective all season long. This past Sunday night I pulled a decent 4×4 for my wife within bow range and he came a running.

I hav ehad scucees with botht he Primos Cans and Hunter Specialties cans. I think I like the Hunters Specialties can better, and that ws the one I used in the video.
I use the big can. Somebody off this website gave me this tip so I will pass it on. Keep the can level blow in the bottom hole. Give it a steady amout of air that way you can make it as loud and long as you need it.Trust me it works theres no more staggered sound. It is one loud and solid tone. That is the tip of the day.
Thanks for the tip. I noticed the tape on the hole on the bottom. I have drawn in several curious young deer with my cans. I have a couple, The Can, and another smaller one I think it’s a Primos that is deeper sounding than the big one.
Now if I could just blind grunt Saturday morning in a buck for my daughter to blast!
Good Luck,
Ferny.

HA! That was me from last year when the gasket on my “little” can went bad. However, an update on that tip.. When a really nice buck is on the move and you are trying to get him to come back ,,,,frantically,, keep yourself under control because blowing too loud will make it sound like a coyote!
But maybe i should try that again with the “big” can when i’m calm.

Be careful with that tape. I peal it off and use my finger to hold the air. otherwise if you have it in your pocket one wrong move will make those things chuckle.
