    Nothing like a monster buck to bring old classmates together. I’m thinking of a hunting class reunion, we all have a lot of catching up to do. Hey Mike, I ran into Bob in EC this past summer and we talked for an hour. He wanted my wife and I to come hunt on his land. Guess I waited too long to line it up. Crazy stuff. I called his work number and they told me he was off for the week to hunt. I think they meant “to celebrate”.
    Have a safe hunt couple of weeks on the stand.

    Johnny….I had no idea you were on this site! Too weird. An update on this buck…he will not be the new recordbut from what I’ve heard, he will break several state records! None the less an awesome “Buck of a Lifetime!

    Wow! What a buck – he’ll have a tough time beating that personal best.

    if you go on the boone and crockett website or google image Milo Hanson buck, you will see the Hanson buck is typical and this BC buck is non typical

    I’ve just never understood the “ruling” for official scorers for typical vs. non-typical.

    if you have a buck that has non typical points, you can have it scored either as a typical or non typical….obviously your deer will score higher if it is scored non typical

    I have been an official MN Deer Classic measurer, and MN Record Book measurer for over 20 years.
    what we use at the Classic is;
    if there are more than 12 1/2 inches of non-typ points, the deer benefits better to be scored as a non-typical.

    if there is less than 12 1/2 inches of non-typ inches, then the deer benefits better to be scored as a typical.

    some deer will make the book both scoring ways, but is unusual, but can only be entered using one method.

    the hunter will make the call, if he HAS to have it done over what is recommended.

    Hope that helps.
    Jack
