you just have to get out and scout, it all looks promising, beleive it or not but right behind the farm house in the upper right s.side of the road is probably as good as any you just have to play the wind.Wind shifts are key ,find out where it comes from most of the time and set up so you can get in undetected and if the wind isnt right goto another stand.no matter how bad you wanna hunt if the wind isnt right for that stand then dont hunt it because you will just screw yourself out of a big buck, yea sure you might see some deer but ill guarantee you wont see a giant unless you play the wind..if your a whitetail hunter the wind is everything and scentlock will not fool a bucks nose I dont care what ya see on TV,they are using the wind and thats it.
I have highlighted a few spots I would try to check out. Where is the nearest water ?

Big G as usual is right on. The one problem I see is that the woodlot is on the North and West side of the field and that will be a huge problem as far as wind goes. You have to be really careful here, a South wind would be ideal. If you have cover on the East side of the field to hunt that would be better as our winds are predominately from the N-NW. The above poster is right, no amount of scent killer or scent lock will save you. Play the wind or run the chance of ruining the area. Good Luck
Thanks for compliment huntfish42 A NW wind will play big into the spots I picked, little to no wind, sitting on the backside of a big woods, is critical. No doubt, the roadside of the woods can be good too, I am sure deer are seen in the fields from cars passing by all the time. I would really like to know where the water source is from here, that could really narrow it down to “the spot”. Either way, looks like some nice ground

One thing you might want to try on Google Earth. There is a check box under the scroll down option and there is a box that says, “geographical” this shows ridges which can help you make a better decision. Look for funnels, saddles, and draws that run parallel, etc. I see a spot in between the two fields where a chunk of narrow woods goes in between That would be a great spot. Also, look at the secluded fields closer to the bottom of the page
Since you say its close to home, I’d def do a couple of drive bys in the evening and checkout whats hangin out in the roadside fields…or ask the land owner, if he’s there everyday, I’m sure he can tell you what he has seen.
The first thing I would consider is where you can park and have to walk from. Try to avoid walking through everything all the time. I am not much of a fields edge hunter. I would focus on those areas where the woods necks down.

I agree totally!! Dead center of the page where the woods necks down just off that field edge, that would be the first stand I hang and wait for the right wind. The fied kind of V’s in there and you have a nice field corner making a funnel. Man that spots looks great
Big G hit it right on with the middle circle where the 2 woods connect, sneak in there hang a stand a kill a stud!!
