I have some land that I would like to hunt. The problem is there is a stand that is not situated where I would like it, or how I would like it. Question is, this late in the season do I live with the stand as is or, If I build a totally new freestanding stand will it effect the deer in the area? I am either going to hunt from the existing stand or build a new one. I AM NOT going with a portable this year anyway.

If you are going to put up a new stand or blind I would do it pronto as in today, you have two weeks until opener. It would have been much better to get it up a month ago but if you get it up today the deer should be use to it by opener. If you do get it out there today stay out of there until opening day.
If you do not have time to build the one you want go get a pop up blind and use that this year and start building the one you want for next year in the off season.
