Didn’t see anything all weekend This hot weather sure produced slow activity. I really didn’t hear too much gun fire from the shotgun hunters…i assume it was the same for the majority of all I did manage to make a mock scrape and set up a camera on it so we will see if anything hits it…

I found about the same – activity very limited Saturday (only saw 5) Decided to go out yesterday afternoon and saw none. Very first 0 sighting day for me all season. Very excited about major change coming in the weather – something about sweating for a full hour in my stand after the hike in that just doesn’t seem right on Oct 12th

Took my daughter (9 years old) out in the bow stand with me For her first ever archery hunt…75 degrees and no deer. We did however have an encounter with about a 200 lb black bear right at dark. She was nervous to begin with but then settled down. Not sure if it was the bear or the weather but the deer were not moving Saturday night!

I had my son out for the WI youth gun deer season. Saturday we only had a doe and two fawns come in but last night we saw about 30 deer. We hunted a bean field that had just been combined at about 3:00PM and the deer were working it by 5:00PM. Mostly does and fawns but we could seem chasing going on about 250 yards away and we did have a 6-point walk in on us. I should have had him take it but he wanted to wait for something larger… We’ll see what happens in November. At least he had a good time and had a lot of deer up close, all within 100 yards and some as close as 15 yards away.
