CrappieRock looks as if nobody’s been out west yet. Maybe i’ll head out and check the ice with ya and see how thick. Send me a P.M.

I took this off of the 2008 MN Hunting and Trapping Book. A little confussing to say the least.

“Hunters no longer need to validate their big game licenses upon harvesting an animal. Site tags still need to be validated at the site of the kill.”

So does this mean we don’t have to register our deer? If not how in the heck could the DNR track the kills? I still registered mine this morning, just curious. Thanks

You still have to register your deer. Before, you had to validate your license (by cutting out the validation notch) yourself once you harvested a deer. Many hunters did not even know this…

No wonder, I have not shot a deer in MN for a while now.
