Congratulations Troy on your return to hunting deer out of a treestand. I’m sure your emotions will be all over the place as you climb up that tree. I hope you see a big buck but more importantly, I hope you find some peace of mind in looking back on that terrible and very unfortunate day.

Good luck to ya and be safe, The cool temps realy have them moving, I have been watching a decent buck and a bunch of does of and on for a couple weeks through binochalarsthey been feeding within 75 yards of one of my stands everytime ive been there and i belive going right by it to get where they are feeding, Its not a deer that I want to take but I have high hopes of getting it in front of a friend of mine that just took up bowhunting several years ago. However it dont look to promising that either of us are going to have time off work to hunt for at least a week . keep us posted on how you do

Four years in a ground blind makes me pretty limited. I was SO EXCITED THIS MORNING TO HAVE A GROUP OF TEN OR SO DEER RIGHT IN MY HEADLIGHTS WHEN i OPENED THE GATE THIS MORNING. couple DANDY TEN POINTERS. i TOLD MY WIFE I WOULD BRING HOME SOME FRESH VENISON.So at first light I noticed so movement right below my double ladder stand.Man that thing is compfy!! So after about ten minutes of watching a couples of does I decided to put the smack down on a doe. Boy DID IT FEEL GOOD TO HEAR THAT THWACCCK!!!! i DIDN’T EVEN HAVE TO DO ANY TRACKING SHE JUST COLLAPSED RIGHT THERE. SMOKED HER!!! HAD ALOT OF DEER ALL OVER THE 180 ACRES. sURPRISINGLY ENOUGH THE MAJORITY OF THE DEER WERE LESS THAN 200 YARDS FROM THE MAIN HIGHWAY FEEDING ON ACORNS. gUESS WHERE i WILL BE TONIGHT. RIGHT IN BETWEEN THE ACORNS AND THEIR BEDDING AREA. hOPEFULLY CAN SMACK THAT MONSTER DOUBLE DROP TINE ELEVEN POINTER I SAW TWO WEEKS AGO. wILL POST PICS LATER WHEN I CAN GET TO MY HOME COMPUTER. i THOUGHT I WOULD SEND THIS VIA THE LAPTOP IN THE TRUCK. i’LL SHOUT AT YA’LL LATER.
