I know that most of us watch the weather and probably most of us would agree that when a cold front moves in,get in a tree. I am looking for opinions on this weekend, it is supposed to be in the 70’s all week and on Sat. the high is supposed to be 65ish , then on Sun. low 60’s.

Do you think Sat evening would be the best activity or Sat. morning? My judgment says be out there both morning and evening but not wanting to burn my family time out before the rut starts means that I will usually only hunt two sits a weekend. Please give me your opinion, I really appreciate it!

I have a hunting buddy who swears by a theory that 12 hours before a front be in a tree so that would tell me fri night sat am he has many big bucks to his credit just my 2 cents

my little brother just tagged a super nice 11 pointer last Wednsday that is on the way to the taxidermist. that is the second time he nailed a quality buck during a hot high pressure system. He hunts food sources on hot days(he shot this one on the edge of a corn field) and plays the wind big time as he sweats all the way to the stand.

Evening is usually better this time of year. However, if you can only hunt once this weekend, let the direction of the wind help dictate if you should sit in the morning or the evening.

Brad have you guys been seeing better numbers in the evening? We have noticed more numbers in the morning with deer coming back after running all night….

    Erick,

I’m typically hunting field edges at night and travel bedding routes in the morning so naturally I see more deer in the evening because I can see entire fields. I also don’t hunt a lot of mornings right now simply because I don’t want to kick deer off the fields walking out to my stands. I passed on 3 bucks over the weekend. Two were in the evening and one in the morning.
