My brother was videoing me hunt opening night. We didn’t think it was going to be a good night because of the wind and rain. But the front passed for a few hours and had the deer moving. This was the only group of bucks close enough and i could have shot all of them but they were only 1.5 y/o

Nice video. That eight might be tempting next year.

I’m just curious if you had to edit or resize the file at all before putting on you tube? With my vidoes I have posted I have been limtied to about 55-60 seconds of video before file becomes to large.

Neat video, what kind of camera are you using? Do you have it mounted on anything or are you just holding it in your hand?

Lip, no i don’t do any editing or resizing in order to put it on you tube.

The camera is my brothers. He got it for a wedding present from his father and mother in law. It is completely digital You don’t necessarily need a memory card but there is a slot for an SD card. And it is mounted on a Pro Bow Cam. I think i payed $50 for it. I used it to video my hog hunts in January. Definitely would invest in it if are videoing your own hunts

That is weird. I must have my camera set on a Higher Definition setting or something?

Raw, uncompressed video recorded to mini dv tape has a data rate of 3.6 Mb/s so if you have a 100 Mb limit on video with youtube you’re limited to right around 30 seconds of video.

What you need to do is finish your edit and then compress your finished video project. When you export your finished video you should have a number of options that will affect the finished file size of your video. What video editing software are you using?

James, I have not edited any videos. I just downlaod from my Digital Camera / SD card to my computer and then download to You tube. I can “edit” right on the camera and cut the ends to make it approaximately the 55 seconds that fits into the 1 MB allowed on You Tube.

Your camera is already compressing the video to get it on the SD card. To increase the length you’ll need to pull it into an editing software. For now if you can get the job done with 55 second of run time it sounds like you have a nice time saving work flow in place.

It is slick, but as you know sometimes you have more stuff then I can fit into a timeslot, mine being 55 seconds. I need to purchase the software and start dabbling with it. Thanks

Pinnacle studios has some good software for a decent price. My wife bought me Pinnacle video creator platinum at Best buy for around 100 I think. It also comes with the Dazzle which is a device that can transfer any video tapes to your computer. You can hook up a hi-8 camera to it or your vcr or which my son has been doing his xbox 360. Pretty much anything with video cables.

Good software at a decent price, fun to play with if your in it for a good time and not trying to make a blockbuster.
