I am looking for opinions and or experiences with the new CVA Electra muzzleloader. Does anybody have one or know someone that does? If so what have you found to be the goods and bads about them so far? I can get a great buy on a new one, but I wanted to check here and see what people had to say about them since they are fairly new.

    Any help on this guys?

    Thanks in advance

ive never really looked at em closely but ive always wondered how you can transport them with a load in them and have them not be considered loaded. To me it sounds like a good idea but its getting to complex and asking for something to go wrong, like i know my T/C has been under water, put in the snow, used in rain and such.

im interested to see what others who have used it have to say about it

I have never used one… but have wondered where I would get enough extension cords to run one back where I hunt…

Just be sure it’s legal for where and what you want to hunt. Some states are passing regulations specifically making electric muzzleloaders illegal, while other states already have regulations regarding the use of “electronics.”

From my understanding it runs off a 9 volt battery.

I do know about the laws being passed making them illegal. I only plan to use it in wi and there is nothing in place for them right now.

By looking at them they seem to completely sealed other than the end of the barrell.

Anybody out there ever shoot one??????

Hey Eric I don’t know anything about this CVA, but the concept would scare me away from buying one, because cold weather and batteries don’t mix!

It looks like your OK in Wisonsin. I just thought I would point it out to you and any others looking at getting one. I wouldn’t be suprised if more states ban them for the “muzzleloader season.”

Call the boys at CVA. I’ll bet that you tell them who you are and that you’ll write a review, they would let you demo one. I was at the CSI show here in Minneapolis and they seems like some nice guys. Personally I’ll stick to my optima pro.

Hopefully the battery doesn’t die when the time to shoot a deer happens.
