Saturday in the woods!!

A friend of mine and I decided to take this Saturday off the ice and spend it in the woods. I have not done too much post season scouting and had to take some stands down. We spent about 4 hours walkin trails and checkin swamps etc. Located zero sheds but kicked up a herd of about 12 deer..thats a herd to me ..with two bucks with all the head gear..decided to check areas that are off limits during hunting season and decided to share some pics of some rubs..the first is a pretty good sized tree rubbed up pretty good…the woods looked great and with the temps in the low 30’s it was a great day to spend in the woods ..Im hopin to share some pics of some antler sheds yet this year…good huntin …Jay

It sounds like you had a great day in the woods Jay! It’s amazing what a hunter can find out in regard to deer patterns during this time of the year scouting and then be able to apply them for next fall.

Nice pictures Jay. Were they all dry or did it look like the bucks were still working on them, any moist bark or sap wood?, I couldn’t tell.

Good way to spend the day! Stacie and I walked around on our property up Norht on Sunday looking for sheds and deer travel.

Those trees are trashed!!! Would like to get a shot at that hog.
