I have yet to try the blazers. But the reason they give you greater velocity is they are smaller vanes, thus giving less surface area which creates less wind drag, giving you greater velocity.

I have heard many good things about these, but not many negative. I think it may depend on the size of your broadhead you are using and the ability of the Blazers to “steer” your arrow.

blazers are 2″ i believe. I used to shoot them but i did not like the fact that they didn’t stay glued on very easily I even had an archery shop do them also and came back w/ the same results I shoot 4″ fletchings now and iam really satisfied w/ them

I tried some blazers this year and when I got them put on, I practiced for a while using 3 arrows w/ blazers and 3 w/ 4 inch helicle feathers. I would alternate shots and every shot I took with the blazers was a little more accurate than with the feathers…just an inch or 2 but that can make all the difference. I’ll stick with the blazers. I had one go right through a deer and the vanes stayed on.

But that can also depend on how the feathers were maintained. If you had a pass through on the arrows w/ the feathers, OF COURSE the blazers would be more accurate because the feathers would be damaged and spread apart. Ive shot feathers before and will never go back to them

I shoot the NAP quick spins and I like them as well. I have not tried the blazers but I feel the NAP vanes are accurate. I would also say that if you choose the NAP’s I recommend using a multy bulls’eyed target. The NAP vanes do not hold up very well when you start slapping arrows together in tight groups. Aside from that, I have zero complaints with them.

Dylan, I have been shooting Blazers for 3 years now and in that 3 years I have had to refletch 1 arrow since. With regular vanes I was tearing a vane almost everytime I was shooting. And I have not lost any accuracy.

Rob is “right on the money”. 2″ Blazers are able to “steer” most popular broadheads up to 100gr, due to their height, which makes up for the short length…I have tested many vane set ups(including Blazers) extensively in my bow shop and on the bows I sell and set up.
If you shoot large diameter and or fixed blade heads 125gr and over I would go with the larger vanes or feathers…

This is my second year shooting Blazers. Love ’em and I haven’t had to re-fletch any of them. That may be due in part to the AMAZING glue that I’ve been using. Fast-Fletch. Wow, does that stuff hold. Gotta work quick with it though as it sets up pretty fast (as the name implies, I guess). Shaft prep is key too. Get the pharmacy-grade rubbing alcohol and clean the shafts with that first and the glue will practically weld the fletchings to the shaft.

    My two cents.

match your arrows to your bow and broadhead set-up, not your vanees.
