A trip we’ll remember for life. I was luck enough the second weekend of the WI gun season to take my 7 year old daughter out in the deer woods for the first time. To say she was excited is an understatement. When the alarm went off at 5:15 she was right behind me looking for breakfast. Well after a cold morning of no action, we went back to camp to grab a bite to eat and a chance for her to shoot her bow. She loves shooting her bow!

Well after a little lunch we head to a new spot and sit for an hour. That’s when it got exciting…we heard shooting in the direction of where my brother was sitting so we watched that direction. As we watched I could see a doe heading our way…so I told her that when the doe was close enough I would let her know when I was going to shoot so she could plug her ears! Well, the doe snuck to within 20 yards and I gave her the OK to cover her ears. One shot with the 30-06 and she was over. I haven’t seen her that excited since last Christmas! Needless to say it was a great hunt for both of us! ( Sorry about the picture quality…don’t know if my camera is going bad or if my niece was shaking)

Also, this is one for TEAM 12!!

Way to go Dartman! Sounds like you have done an outstanding job introducing your daughter to the great outdoors! You two will talk about this hunt for a very long time. Way to build a special memory.

Congrats!! I can see how proud she is….what a great moment!

And Grifter-the spread on that rack is too wide for your avitar and is against IDO policy . Ok, that is just jealousy talking.
