Thanks guys! Opening morning I sat in a double stand with my wife that has produced quite a few shooters in the last few years. I could hear a deer in the valley below us before shooting light, as it got lighter out I could still hear the deer coming closer and closer working its way up the draw. At 6:45 the deer walked a well used rubline on the left side of the stand and got to 30 yds and began to qtr up the hill, I fired one shot from my 12 gauge and he dropped in his tracks. We continued to sit in the stand since my wife still had to earn-a-buck– waiting for a doe to get within range of our stand, another great buck appears from the opposite direction on the same trail(he had about 25-30 inches on this one ) he gets within 15 yds of my dead buck and stands there and looks at it for 25 minutes . My wife and I then watched him walk up the hill and bed down. At 12:30 a doe ran across the top of the ridge about 150 yds above him and he stood up and followed her……..10 minutes later a single shot. Another member of my hunting party was able to take him. So we took 2 good ones off the same hill. I took the head in to have a euro done on it.
