A guy at work asked me what my buck scored and I told him that I never measured it. He guessed 160″+ whereas I was assuming closer to 150″. I guess I don’t really care because I can’t exactly let him go, he is my biggest to date, and will be the first to go on my wall. However, the more I think about it, the more curious I get. I’m sure many of you know how it goes, the deer keeps growing in my mind, by the time I can ever pick him up from the taxidermist it will have grown to be a Booner.

Eventually I plan on calling my taxidermist and asking him to measure it but I know how busy he is (I was already deer number 48 this year, 3 days into the first gun season). What are your best guesses? Unfortunately I can’t provide any measurements other than that the kicker coming of his left base is at least an inch so it technically is an 11 pointer with some deductions.

    Thanks.

I’m with ERonningen on the scoring. Reguardless that is a great whitetail! Congrats!

I agree, I think you have enough to make the 160’s there. That is an impressive deer

i give it 155-160″ depending on circ. measurements and putting the main beams at 46-48″. either way…. it’s one hell of a buck and something to be very proud of. Congrats!!

You can ask your taxidermist if you can have the antlers to get them scored, right now the first thing he will be working on is the cape he probably will not need the antlers until spring. That is what I am doing, my taxidermist is going to give me a call when he is ready for the antlers. Also that way you do not have to worry about the antlers being lost or stolen from him, I have heard a few horror stories of this happening.

I would LOVE to shoot that buck this weekend. Great deer, nice symetry and height.
