According to the map, 343 is managed, not lottery, so you could harvest 2 does and a buck in that area. However in 342, it is lottery, so you cannot harvest a doe there during the shotgun season, unless you applied and got a permit, or you can get one with the bow or muzzleloader. You can tag a buck anywhere, with any weapon for the season.

this is the easiest way to remember it. its not what it sounds like when you read it for the first time. I to thought that it sounds like you can get two when you get the all season licenseharlanddPosts: 106October 29, 2007 at 6:34 pm #620311intensive=5, managed=2 lottery=1

October 29, 2007 at 11:02 pm #17880About the all season deer licence. I called the DNR and i thought you can shoot 2 deer in each managed area but only shoot up to 5 a year. But that is including every managed area. For example i live in austin which is right on the border of zone 466 and 467. So if i would shoot a deer in 466 and in 467 the only way i can fill my other tag is if i go to a intense harvest area. To me we paid $79 for 3 deer tags we should be able to use them all where ever we want except for a lottery area of course.

harlanddPosts: 106October 29, 2007 at 11:34 pm #17885The all season will let you hunt in any zone you just have to abide by the area you are hunting in at the time. you can shoot a 1 deer in a lottery area then shoot one in a managed area and continue on into hte intensive area. htey just want your primary area when you by a license for ther info.

Right the only season you can not hunt is 3B. I hunt in 343 also and yes you can only take a total of 2 deer in 343 with what ever weapon you use so if you want to hunt muzzle loader in 343 and you shoot a deer during the bow or shot gun season you will need to save one tag for the muzzle loader season. If I take a buck during the shot gun season I plan moving to an intense area were you can take up to 5 deer, that way I will be able to hunt close to home come muzzle loader season.

October 30, 2007 at 1:42 pm #16517Just a thought but its bugs me you pay for 3 tags only to be able to use two in a managed zone just my opinion but it would make sense to be able to use your two doe tags on the license for whatever season exept the 3b and tag one buck would make it a lot more simple
