What is everyone seeing as far activity? I am heading up North tonight to check things out. Not much for activity behind my house except the small bucks are real active and just starting to get going.

I have yet to come across a nice scrape, although it should really get going in the next few days. I would imagine I wil find a few up North tonight. Best days are coming…now if that gun season did not start until Mid November I would be really stoked

I hunt near bemidji and i have been seeing mainly smaller 1 1/2 year olds with a few 2 1/2 thrown in the mix and one big 3 1/2…nice to be seeing some deer before they all go missing from gun fire

I passed on a 135-140 last night at 15 yards. Too early. He was alone, had somewhere he was going but not in a huge hurry. That was the only deer I saw.
I was out a few nights ago and at a distance, saw 24 does and fawns. not one buck anywhere in sight. I’m sure they weren’t too far though.
    Different spots. Try again tonight.

Some movement in the Park Rapids area. Been seeing a lot of does moving around and a number of smaller bucks.

I hunted last weekend up by Cumberland, Wi. I put up a new stand to hunt in a swamp earlier this fall. When I put it up, I could walk in my shoes and not get wet. Now the water is up to my knees in the entire swamp. There are some new rubs made within the last week on several trees in the swamp. If your hunting anywhere near water, plan on it being very wet. I plan to bring my scuba mask out this weekend to see if they have been making any scrapes.

I drove up North to check things out and sit for the evening yesterday. No scrapes to be found yet, but that will change by Sunday I would guess. I decided to sit near the pumpkin patch since the bucks hit that real hard just before the rut starts. Well I saw 5 small bucks come in a feed and fight, just like every year. Eventually the big boys will show up for the fight! It is getting really close
