My son spencer who had shot an 8pt buck on opening morning, filled his doe tag on Saturday evening. He shot this nice 130lb (feild dressed) doe. He made a perfect 20 yd shot on her. She ran 60yds and piled up. This time I was not in the tree with him. He was all alone and he was very proud of the fact that he did it with out me in the tree coaching him. Looks like I trained the kid too well. He is 2 ahead of his dad for this season. Don’t forget to get your kids out hunting and fishin with you, it gives them a great sport that you can share with them for life.

Awesome! Congratulations guys. Hunting with family is what it is all about. Glad to see another kid hooked on hunting, we need to see more of that. Under three years and I get to enjoy my sons adventures.

Way to go Spencer!! That really is something to be proud of…..my son and I are learning that you may get a good shot off but still end up unsuccessful. He is 13 (this is his second year) and getting a little frustrated after this weekend. I was in the stand and he was on the ground for a 15 yard or less shot at an 8 point buck. I won’t go into all of the details as I don’t want to ‘hijack’ your dad’s posting. You must have put in a lot of time practicing and it sounds like it is paying off!! Congrat’s again!

    Enjoy the tenderloins and backstaps!!

He hit her high in the shoulder just under the shoulder blade. Arrow passed through a rib, both lungs, another rib then stuck in the ground. Not bad for 45lb bow, must be the Muzzy broadhead that I swear by.
