Was going thru some photos this morning and came across this pic of Rob with his monster deer from a few years back.
Pretty sure this was shot in early December of 2003.

Congrats again Rob on the tremendous Deer, and good luck this year with you and Stacie this Fall in the woods.
    Jack..

Man a day does not go by that I don’t think about that Day and that buck. I look at him every day on the Mantle, just wondering when and if I will get another shot at a deer like that.

Thanks for stirring the pot for me Jack. Hopefully the next few weeks I will have antoher shot at a buck like that.

I have to tell you guys that pic just does not do that buck justice, I have seen Robs buck in pearson on his Mantle and I was at a loss for words, I would fall out of my tree if something like that walked by my stand!!!

Rob has several other nice bucks on the wall as well, maybe if we ask him real nice he will post some pics

What did that buck score Rob? Was it shot in MN? That thing is huge, had to be tough to keep cool with that thing coming into bow range!

Here is another shot of him that shows off some of his length. This buck was shot 2nd rut early December just between Rush City & Harris, MN on a cousins farm. I jumped him pushing a slough for my Dad during the rifle season, but could not get a bead on him. I’m glad I did not, this wa smuch sweeter with a bow. Here is my original post on him.

OK I can’t deny the itch any longer I’m jacked and need a fix! I thought I would try to post the Deer I arrowed last year during the 2nd rut in MN. I kicked him up on a deer drive with my Dad during the gun season, but never got a shot at him in the thick slough . He came out scent checking a group of does and fawns right in front of me on December 3. 15 yard broadside shot. I had pulled back on him early to begin with, and then the does were in the way, I had to wait to shoot and felt my breathe start to quicken and I swear he could hear my heart pounding, but I calmed myslef down just in time as 2 does parted annd his vitals were exposed. I let it fly, he Jumped and went about 10 yards and just looked around as if nothing happened. I swore I hit him good???? He started to walk off as I quickly reached for another arrow. Then I looked down on the ground from where he just was an saw the blood . He went another 40 yards and laid down and was out! He offically goes 168 7/8″. Just over an inch short of a Booner. He Gross’s 176 4/8″ with Main beams over 25.5″. Am I pumped for this year????? YOU BET!

WOW! That is an awesome deer! Great story also! Now you’ve got your work cut out for you to try and get a bigger one! That deer must have been a heavy deer by the looks of the picture?
