I ended up having quite a productive saturday morning this past weekend! The wind was almost perfect for the stand i was sitting in, SW. My stand is set up between a lake that has some GREAT bass fishing and a pond, so it’s an ideal funnel and travel corridor. Because of the water level being down this year, the deer have been able to travel on the shoreline. At 7:15 am, this doe walks by from behind me, on the shoreline at 10 yards. After a quick “mack!!” i let my Snyper punch through both lungs and heart She ended up running 50 yards and unfortunately, i wasn’t able to see her fall because the cat tails were too long But she is the first deer of the year and a great way to break the ice on a beautiful doe
