just out of curiousity of how many of you think so?? With their new Slim Limbs and single cam tech., do you think this company performs better than others?? Or is it just bandwagon?

The archery techs that I have talked with and know usually talk about Mathews as being top of the line. Manufacturing tolerances and fit are exceptional on Mathews products. Tech’s have told me they can pull bow after bow from the boxes and set them up all the same, very consistent product. The design and innovation of Mathews no doubt has been industry leading.
With that said, I recently bought a Ross Cardiac bow. I’m also very impressed with Ross’s build and fit. The biggest difference for me was the $200+ savings – I simply couldn’t justify the additional cost for the Mathews.

Hope I am not missing something……..

August 3, 2007 at 12:44 pm #33481I shoot a bowtech and i have never been happier. IF you are looking, just go to a place and shoot as many bows as you like you will find your own personal favorites.
Bowtech has never let me down. Smooth and quiet. I think they have high end quality.
My brother shoots a Fred bear instinct and you would be surprised on how smooth and quiet this bow is.
I think if you were too go out and shoot a bunch of different bows in different price ranges you would find some cheaper bows that can shoot like a high end bow and high end bows that really don’t have much of an advantage. but not all
Its all personal liking and what you are comfortable with. I have shot mattews and they are good.

August 3, 2007 at 1:03 pm #33483I shot with a pse for five or more years and then I was at my local archery shop and shot a new hoyt and switchback. Lucky my wife was with because I left with the switchback and havent been happier. That being said my old bow laid the deer down very effectively also. It was a little heavier, a little louder, and may not have been quite as flat shooting. I hunt at least 60 days a season and so the bow spends alot of time i the woods which is a consideration also. Shoot em all and go with what feels best out of what you can afford. Your local proshop should be more than happy to line em all up and let you compare the bows. good luck!!

August 3, 2007 at 1:37 pm #33490Bandwagon NO, but not the best bow for everyone in the world either. Personal Preference, go with what you like and what fits you best.
I have a Ford, GMC, Matthews and a PSE.

August 3, 2007 at 2:23 pm #33492I recently decided to upgrade to a top of the line bow and I went to my local shop and shot the normal favorites. After shooting the new PSE X force, Bowtech Alliegance, Hoyt Vectrix, and Matthew’s Drenalin, Matthews got my vote. As mentioned before, all these bows have great features to them, but Matthew’s offered what I wanted out of a new bow.
Shoot them all, then make your choice.

August 3, 2007 at 5:10 pm #33505In the past, have shot Oneida, drove Chevy,.. now have Hoyt, Dodge & Jeep.. Nothing wrong with Matthews, just thought the Hoyt was a better fit for me. (mostly, my local archery shop that carried Matthews had a 15 year old kid, trying to help me decide, they had Matthews and Hoyt) the other archery shop,(Hoyt only) I had the owner helping me. I do believe, the shop where they carried both, Matthews must have had a better commission for the salesman.

August 3, 2007 at 7:37 pm #33512I shoot a Reflex and could not be happier. I have owned PSE and Martin as well and this bow by far is the better one. I have shot Mathews bows and other single cams but cannot seem to get used to the draw cycle. Some people swear by it but I find it rather uncomfortable. Also, they are quite possibly the most over-priced bow on the market. Shoot every bow you can, they will all kill (or miss) deer equally well. Today, it’s all about comfort.

August 3, 2007 at 10:03 pm #33430I currently shoot a hoyt year round both indoors and outdoors. Like previously mentioned all bows have to be suited to the individual. With that being said I believe each bow company has its weaknesses in design and need to be factored into the decision when purchasing a new bow. The best thing to do is to shoot every thing your interested in and shoot for groups as everyone shoots a bow differently. Just my .02

August 4, 2007 at 5:19 pm #33530It was just a curious question to everyone here, thanks for the replies My dream bow, w/o a doubt would have to be the Guardian by Bowtech!!!! I have shot my buddies switchback XT and i didn’t like the cycle draw I don’t know why but to me it was a little smoother compared to other single cam bows. That’s why i shoot a dual cam bow, for that and many other reasons too

crankn101Posts: 23August 6, 2007 at 8:13 pm #33639I think they have to over advertise to make up for something. Kind of like Toyota, Daiwa, and Ranger boats. If you take an average product and push it on people it will sell. They are a good bow but nothing special.
