I was watching a pair of bucks near Red Wing, they are fenced in an area with 4 doe. And while this buck here was standing up along the fence eating berries another buck from outside the fence came up and right over the top of the other Buck.

I couldnt belive it so now there are 3 Bucks in there and only 2 have ear tags.

I know he is hard to see in that first pic but he is an 8 point out side the ears.

Heres a pic of him after he had been in there for 15 min, I creeped around the fence to try and get a pic but they wouldn’t let me get to close.

They never fought or anything. I dont think it as his first time visiting. Pretty cool to watch!

    Brian,
    pretty cool pics.
would be nice to be able to get up updated photos, as the summer progresses..

as far as sparing and fighting. During the summer, bucks frequently hang out together, and get along very well together. they really don’t start fighting til they separate out and live solitary lives up and thru the Fall and Rut times. that’s when the fighting begins, to defend their territory and their does.
    Jack.

I would think if one can they all could. They must be some what tame. Maybe?? The tagged ones anyway.

That and going in the fence will be easier then comeing out! There is a built up path on the outside of the fence, he leeped over, he will almost have to climb out!

Nice pic’s. But I will have to agree with Lonewolf by saying the DNR really frowns upon this. Anytime there are “caged” deer mixing with wild deer there is a chance of bad things happening.
