ArtPosts: 439January 13, 2007 at 4:21 am #28252Is that like an albino? Where it will be elimated. I’m old enough that I remember the first deer seasons in sw Mn. I live by Chatfield now. Have a small farm and 160 acres of state land right behind my place with no public access to it unless you canoe the Root river. Watch the deer all the timr and never seen one like that. Thanks for pics. Anybody got any info.

January 13, 2007 at 3:24 pm #28260From what I was told..This deer is from the Stevens Point area in Wisconsin. Since this is not a true Albino, I actually think this one would be legal to harvest(no pink eyes). Sure would make a beautiful full body mount..

January 13, 2007 at 5:20 pm #28262Even 1 spot of brown makes it legal to shoot in Wisconsin. Like Jarrad said it must be 100% Albino to be illegal to harvest. Sure are a neat looking animal though!!

January 13, 2007 at 5:25 pm #28263Its a piebald, there rare and a few have been spotted here in Iowa too. Jamie a guy i used to shoot 3d’s with raises deer and he had a few of them a few years ago for breeding just out of town here aways. His were more motteled and looked like the coloring of an appaloosa, pretty neat deer! I don’t know if their protected here but i think it would be nice if they were. I know albino deer are, not sure what constitutes an albino besides the pink eyes, if its all white but no pink eyes.

January 14, 2007 at 3:03 am #28268Had a doe in northern WI walk up to my blind about 15 yrs ago that was a piebald. She was all brown except for the head all white. Brown ear tips and a little around the eyes. My first thought was why is there a cow back here in the woods. Wished I had the camera that day.

January 14, 2007 at 3:08 am #28269I would not shoot it no matter what for it is just so neat to be able to watch a deer so easily to pick out of a group grow over time. Thanks Steve for sharing those pics with us.
