I think that is real. If memory serves correct, it was shot in Michigan. I know I’ve seen that pic before.

December 21, 2006 at 2:01 am #27526LOL- that is the mitch rompala buck…
About seven years old, he grew it himself inside a fence, and then shot it. It is real, but it is not a legal kill…December 21, 2006 at 2:01 am #513579LOL- that is the mitch rompala buck…

shaylaPosts: 1399December 21, 2006 at 2:07 am #27529That is probably the most controversial buck to ever live!!! Some say it’s real, some say it’s fake, and if you wait long enough you will get many different versions of how it was killed….the fact is the only guy that knows the truth ain’t talking.

December 21, 2006 at 2:54 am #27538Reading the article they writer brings up some valid points. I belive its fake myself. I have had the fortune to be close to a real live wild 200″ typical whitetail but never got the shot. Trust me IF I had arrowed him last thing on my mind would be going home for the camera. Everyone in the county would have heard me screaming in excitement. Not sure whatever happen to that buck we saw him 2 more years but never heard of him getting shot unless he was poached. Still hunting his grandkids though.

December 21, 2006 at 3:46 pm #27548This Mitch is pathetic. If it was real, he would let them Xray the rack. I remember when this hit the Sportsman paper, we were in Bemidji on a weekend bowhunt. Talk about getting the blood flowing…

December 22, 2006 at 8:25 pm #27593i’ve read a ton of articles on this situation and this buck. I’m not saying that I think it’s real , however,, just because he doesn’t want to have it officially scored or didnt scream to the mountain tops that he had this monster doesn’t make it fake.. Although it doesn’t seem to be that this guy prefers not to be in the spotlight but i know a few guys that would just rather not be bothered with the questions and speculation of how it all went down. Like an earlier post noted,, only one guy really knows what happened here. and to that guy he may be the only one that is of any importance..
