NEW IOWA DEER REGISTERING SYSTEM ??

Got to use the new Iowa deer tag/registration system over the weekend.What a disapointment!! You have to write in ink the date of kill on the tagged animal.Then phone in or go online to get a validation # , then go back and write that # on the tagged deer.When I phoned in I went through about 19 prompts ….one….one….one….one…. nine…one… etc etc.. That was for one deer!! How can the state of Iowa come up with such a buffled set up. I like how Minnesota does it with the ELS setup much better. Anybody have any thoughts on this new system??Our group was thankful to harvest some nice animals and had some great memories this past weekend.The weather cold and windy and made for tough conditions. Our group in Winneshiek Co. noticed a lot less hunters and fewer deer observed in general. HYBES

I’ve done 3 archery kills there, and it doesn’t take more than a minute or so to get your verification number online. You’ve had to write the date of the kill on the tag for several years, but this is the first year for writing the verification number on the tag…not a big deal though. It really is extremely easy online.
