    Fox 9 news will be putting odor masking clothing to the test tonite at 9pm.

    just watched it a little bit ago. Great story!! The studies they did were pretty good and the guy from scentlok, was a little short on words. Even though I do wear a full scentlok suit from top to bottom and an undersuit, the story really makes ya think especially when the dogs found the person with and without scentlok. I’m sure it helps a little, but basically it comes down to a great place to throw your money. I am guilty of it.

    Thats a great story, but I think they did not take into account every possible factor. In science, you can only test one change per test. I fail to see how a reporter can test something they know nothing about. Just because they put on a set of clothes, does not mean they have cleaned as much scent off their body before hand as possible, washed their mouth out, sprayed scent elimination on body/clothes, washed non-scent loc clothes in odor free soap, etc. etc.

    Now I do not think this stuff is the cats meow, far from it. But I do think it is one extra little help in a scent free arcenal (sp).

    Like i posted above…i didnt think they would do the testing accurately….In my opinion that was a WORTHLESS test and didnt prove or disprove anything…but you got to hand it to FOX9…we tuned in…ohh well…will we ever know the truth on scent elimination clothing??

    The dogs are trained to trail any trace of scent they can find and find the person.

    The deer on the other hand are tuned to avoiding human contact – not avoiding total human scent. Big difference. The best explanation I heard was that the deer will smell you regardless of what you do, but the goal is to make them think you are either far away, or were there long ago. They do not get alarmed by every little whiff of human scent, or the metro deer herd would be extinct. Just a thought.

    What I don’t understand is people spend hundreds of dollars on scentlock clothes, cover scents.

    And then oil up their guns with stinky gun oil. So what good is all the other equip.

    I think that most of the guys that buy the sentlock clothes are bow hunters.
