I have been hearing what a great opener it has been for alot of people, some even said it has been there best year. One fella said it was a constant shoot from dawn till 9:30 AM. and this was in the mining country north of Virginia.

So then tell me with the deer population hovering around a million and the wolf population around 4,000. is everybody pissed that they are seeing WOLVES around there deer hunting area???
The wolves need to eat, youre having a great season, I am hearing great reports, I really dont see the problem.

I know this could be a heated debate so lets be civil.
I have hunted deer all over Minnesota, I see deer every year and the population is rising.

    Someone please help me understand

I wish everyone a safe hunt this year and lets wait to see the numbers, but it is shaping up to be a boom season on deer in Minnesota. Lets leave the wolves alone.

Thank You for letting me vent.

    shoot straight and be safe.

I wish we had a few wolves down here in Iowa but all we have are coyotes. I also wish we had bear and moose. Occasionally somebody spots a bear here in NE Iowa and at least once a moose wandered down (if I remember correctly somebody shot it). According to the Iowa DNR there is a population of cougars in the state but I have yet to see one. Bears can be found as close as 50 miles away from DBQ in Iowa county Wisconsin and a female wolf was killed by a car a few years back near Portage just north of Madison. I would love to see any of these animals in the wild here in Iowa.
