The Wisconsin Outdoor News I received yesterday had an article that spoke of Barry’s Dunn County Buck. I think they indicated it scored 187 2/8. I’m pretty sure it also said this would be a new Wisconsin Typical Bow record. If this is true, it couldn’t happen to a better guy – unless it were me . The article isn’t available online yet. The same article also said 2006 had more booners entered in Wisconsin than any previous years.

I had to take my deer horns up to my Uncle in Elmwood who also did the mount of the Rose buck. You were correct. The buck scored 187 2/2 inches…. a new Wisconsin state archery typical record. My uncle told me he did a rough nontypical score when Barry first brought the buck in and it was just over 220 inches. Barry Rose’s rack took 1st place in the typical archery class at the Wisconsin Turkey and Deer Expo in Madison earlier this year of course, but my uncle’s taxidermy work on the same deer won the “Best of Show” award, which my uncle was very proud of…and he should be. My Uncle Don Adank does GREAT work!
