I hope you are right about the score….I have been praying for a different buck to take over Milo Hanson’s buck as the new #1, I just never liked that buck due to the fact that it’s TOO perfect and lacks any character. Nothing against Milo, I hear he’s a swell guy, I just don’t like his deer representing the number one spot.

He was very gracious to email me back and this was his reply back…“Hi Jerry…thanks for the email. I certainly appreciate the support and am eagerly waiting the final score in 60 days.I do have several things in the works now in dealing with the buck, but again I am going to reserve judgement and wait until the official scores are in. Keep in touch, Jerry. Good luck hunting!”
We gabbed about more but it wasn’t about the deer. He seemed to be a class act!

November 2, 2006 at 5:50 pm #23818No that is gross score. They deduct for asymetry and extra tines which this deer has at least the extra tines on one side. Like I said extra tines are deducted from the gross score. Second they measure the left side of the rack and then the right side of the rack compare them in inches and deduct the differences between the 2. I would guess this deer “probably” has 20+ inches of deductions. Putting it at around 200″ maybe a tad less. I’m guessing 195″ which would put it way up there in the record books. All scoring aside this as I’m sure you well know is a brute of a whitetail!!! I would bet 90-95% of hunters don’t even see one this big let alone shoot it with a bow
