He is a nine, not counting the stickers- he is a 12 counting them, going on being one inch- how long do they technically have to be?

They have to be at least 1 inch to score P&Y or B&C. It doesn’t really matter to me because it gives the buck character.

G, I’ll take a quick stab, kind of hard from the pics (because of the angle) but here is what I come up with.

Scored as a typical 4×4 frame

    Brows (G1’s) around 5.5″

    G2’s around 10″

G3’s around 9.5″ Cool long forked G3 on the right hard to see in one pic, but the other shows it.

Main Beams are tough but look pretty long in the first pic. Going with that pic I would say they are in the neighborhood of 23-25″. Call it 24″.

It has decent mass but not out of the ordinary I give it 16″ So add those numbers up and I get

    5.5 + 10 + 9.5 + 24 + 16 = 65 inches multiply that by 2 assuming pretty typical sides from the picture that gives you 130″es.

Now looking at the picture, the buck does not appear to be all that wide. With the ears tucked back on the mount it makes it even tougher to determine. Knowing this there was probably a reason for keeping them tucked in the mount????? Perhaps because the bucks spread did not go out past the ears????? With that being said I will give him 16″ but it could be more like 15″.

    130 + 16 = 146″ Gross Typical Inches.

Now looking at that split G3 it appears that is about 6 inches and I’ll give it another 2.5″ in stickers. for a total of 8.5″ of abnormal points.

146″ + 8.5″ puts this buck in the 154.5 gross Inches vicinity. A true trophy, no doubt. Like I said, this buck has some character to it. Congrats again Luke.

Sorry Luke if I have misjudged it. Like I said, hard to tell from the pics. Maybe Luke knows what this scores????

No, my friend, that is probably right on down to the inch! I knew it was around 150-160, as my dads 150 is a bit smaller- now, my dad’s could have been scored incorrectly, and it might make mine smaller. It doesn’t really matter to me, as I love the character in this deer!!

Thanks for all the kind comments guys!

I just got back from buying my new xt. Grand total was 1346.00…..OUCH!! I am going to have to be extra nice to the wife!!

Hopefully this bow will put down my big boy this year!!

Good luck, I know you will love that bow Luke.

Like I said earlier also. It really doesn’t matter if those stickers score or not, it makes that deer very unique and adds character that can’t be scored or given a value. It just adds to an already terrific buck.

Now get shooting and get that thing dialed in.
