I thought I’d try asking this question here. I’ve posted on the QDM site, but not too many guys there as far north as WI. Has anyone in northern IA, southern MN, or anywhere in WI tried growing persimmons with any success? I’ve got some growing and they’ve made it through several winters. It’s my understanding they take awhile to produce fruit, just wondering if anyone has tried this.
It takes up to six years before the tree will produce fruit, provided you have 2 different sexed trees to pollinate. If you keep the trees healthy than can produce the fruit for up to 50 years.
