Anyone able to explain or provide photo demonstration on how to tie a long-lasting nock, with either B-50 or dental-floss? I do not like metal pinch-on style nocks on my recurve string. Thanks!

I just use un-waxed dental floss & tie a regular half-hitch where I want it, then just wrap it tightly until it’s about the size I like, then tie another half-hitch. Then I put a little fletch-tite on it. That kind of soaks into the threads then hardens it up. Mine usually out last the string.

    Beetle,
So you don’t actually spread the string strands? You just wrap around the outside of the string?

The un-waxed dental floss also makes a good wind indicator. Just tie a piece at the bow tip on the string, after a few shots it get all frayed and will move with just a slight breeze.

You should have a serving where your nock point will be, so you can’t split the string at that point. At least that’s how my strings are made.

Thanks! Never thought of that, but now that you mention it, I DO have a serving in that same exact spot!
Silly me, and thanks for your help.

Thank You Eye-Full, that is exactly what I was looking for! Looks easier than I thought, too.
