Anyone ever use one of these or have heard about these? Any comments? I’m sick of not getting any footage of some big boys. Not talented enough to do both in stand (Film and Hunt). I’m not to the point where I can let a buck go cause, I get busted moving cause of the dumb camera The girlfriend still has a year of school left, so I will be camera man/woman less at least another year.

    HUNT CAM

    Thanks for any input.

They look cool, but my only concern would be the cable from the camera back to the recording device. A person would have to be darn careful not to get it tangle in the bow string. I think it would also take some tweaking to get the alignment correct for recording what you are shooting/looking at.

Although for fishing, it may be quite handy to have the cable, ya know. For when you hat falls of into the lake as you release that 30 incher. You could at least retrieve the camera!

Rob, I’ve seen these things and they are nice to a point. I have a neighbor who uses one when he hunts. He didn’t have any problems with it when he was using a gun, but said it was terrible to try and use when bow hunting. He said you always had to watch the cord. He also said most of the shots are not steady at all and that if you aren’t super careful your camera view is always off a little. He said if you just want a video of the hunt it is cool…just not something that is good quality to share with others or easy to follow. I’ve seen some of his footage, it is good I thought but some times the camera was in the wrong direction when he shot and also he seemed to worry about it more when he was in the tree than actaully bow hunting.
Just my fifty five cents worth.

Wouldn’t you think the cable runs down your back of neck and into your shirt ? Thats what I would do. Also, with a little practice, you would think a guy could put it on his huntin hat, and have it be right where it needs to be. Maybe zoom out a little too, to see more area ? I was wondering how long it would be, before they came out with something like this. When cateyes came out, you knew it was inevitable. I used to lug a big old camcorder out in the stand with me, it was HUGE !!! got some decent footage, I just took it when I would be pre-scouting, not during a hunt. How much $ is one of these set-ups ?

It says $300 bucks but you still need a compatible camera. About $350 will get you extra battery and accessories.

No not yet. Hunting stuff will have to wait until August befroe purchasing. I need to see where I get drawn for first. I’m putting in SD & ND Rifle and will be bowhunting MN & ND. I would like to hunt Iowa, but I think I will have to wait until next year to try.

Hey Rip, if you need any information on where to go give me a shout, i’ll help with what i know. Theres lots of good places to hunt here with alot of public land that dosen’t see much pressure until shotgun season so the woods will be quiet until then. The river bottoms here are very good and adjacent hills. I’ll give you information on what i know here.
