I would just like to hear the DNR’s reasoning for closing BowHunting during this time. Bow Hutning durin gthis time would be no different than if I were to sit in my stand with a gun. In MN& ND you are allowed to do it, as long as you satisfy the safety orange requirements. As someone posted above and my thoughts exactly, that is some awful good days to be bowhunting during that period. Yes there is a greater risk of being shot (no different than if I had a gun though?????, Yet those gun hunters and the rut have those deer up and moving all day long. Makes for good all day sits. I was always curious to this rule. HTanks for everyone insight and let me know if anyone finds this answer out to the reasoninig. I’m off Friday to ND for their last weekend of the bow season. I have 2 tags to fill, either sex tag and a anterless tag. Come 9:00 Sunday those does better watch out I’m letting Mr. Carbon fly and will be doing drives all day until I get one. I will for sure trying to fill one, perhaps two if I can find someone up there that wants the meat. My freezer is already full Good Luck to anyone else out there still chasing Mr. Big

The rut is usually over or near the end when we have our gun season in Wisconsin, Rob.
Our state lets us bowhunters hunt in peace. Well except for that early t-zone that may be discontinued. OH!!! I HOPE SO!!!

I’m with you Zimmy…why they decided on the T-Zone right during the rut I’ll never know! The first year they had the t-zone, all I saw were bucks! They could definately hold off the t-zone til late December or early Jan. If I had a choice, I would toss the 30-06 and just bow hunt for deer!
