My first deer

I was siting here trying to remember my most favorite hunts,and the one that really sticks in my mind happend 20 years ago.My father got me started when i was 12 years old and i owe all I know and my success to him.Back to the hunt it was opening day of gun here in Iowa and it was really cold.We got to our stand my dad and i about a half hour before daylight.When first lght came I remember it was really cold and i was shaking.Then I heard the first gun shot go off and I wounder what the person had shot.The mornig went bye slow we saw deer but no shot.It was about 12:30 and my father asked me if i wanted to go back to the cabin and warm up and I said no,he then asked if it were ok if he went back for awhile to warm up.He said he would be back by 3:00 and said i could hunt untill he got back.I said I would be ok,but my hands were a little cold so he gave me his gloves that were way to big for my hands.And down the ridge he went to the truck.The woods were really quite after he left except for a few shots way off in the distance.It was cloudy with a few snow flakes comeing down.I was standing in a huge oak tree and i could see for ever.About an hour went buy when i heard some movement off too my left and their out of know were stood a deer.I started shaking then i raised my single shot 20 gauge to get ready for the shot when i went to pull the trigger I found that my dads gloves were to big to get on the trigger so in a panic i shook the glove of my right hand.At this time my heart was going 90mph the glove fell and hit the ground and that deer never moved.I finally touched the trigger off and the doe fell to the ground.I was so excited i dont think i touched a tree step all the way to the ground.As i ran up to see my trophy i cought more movement and their he was my Dad with a smile on his face bigger than mine.That was my most favorite hunt of all times.Come to find out dad never left he went down the hill and around the other side of the ridge to make his way back to me. Dose anyone else have a favorite hunt?
