I just wanted to pass along my gratitude for those of you WI “Buck Hunters”. This has contributed to the deer population in WI becoming healthy and plentiful and allows people like myself to harvest not one, but two trophies each year. So far this year I have a 180 lb doe to my credit that will put about 100 lbs of meat in the freezer, hopefully this weekend I can add another of the antlered kind.
I have boiled, baked, poached, deepfried and grilled the antlers and have yet found a way to make them edible. Tenderizer doesn’t work, nor does marinade.

Try scratching your back with a back strap or tenderloin once and you will reconsider. LOL.

I’ve read that in some foreign countries they grind them up and add them into their food. It’s suppose to do something for their MoJo or something like that.
    Yeah…..whatever!
Thank God I don’t have to resort to this, I just hang them on the wall to remind me how fortunate and lucky i’ve been to have these privledges. Today we have the luxury of referring to hunting and fishing as sports instead of survival.
So like I said it is truly a privledge to get to practice them and be successful in many a outing on the water and in the woods.
Although i’ve never had an unsuccessful outing that I concidered a failure, I just chalk those up to a learning experience.

It was a PIG. My point was that EVERY deer is a trophy, not just the ones with horns.

Its kinda like pizza, its all good, just some is better than others.

To many guys are stuck in the old days type thinking. We need to harvest does and thats all there is to it.They don’t seem to understand the concept.I harvested 2 does so far this year.Hopefully I can stick one in the late bow season.I am a herd management specailist.

I just love the taste of venison!

I’ll take a freezer full of doe before I wait all season only to wish I hadn’t passed on a six pointer! Some day Old mossy horns will walk by and I will lay him to rest, till then, I plan on eating alot of venison.

Can’t you do both? Seems 3/4 of the state is T-Zone or CWD.
