OK, who out there shot a doe? I got one this weekend, pretty proud of it. Biggest doe I’ve shot in a long while for sure. Laid it side by side with my cousin’s 3.5 year old (estimated) 10 pointer, and it was practically identical in size.

Allright, let’s here it, who did their part and bagged a doe?

I held off squeezing the trigger during the regular season. That won’t happen during the MN Muzzleloader season, I can assure you. I will however be making absolutely sure there isn’t a big buck following those does.

Chalk one up for me, and one for each of my two sons that hunt. Also in the bag are two bucks.

Going to buy 3 tags wednesday night so i can make some hotdogs and sausage. Where i hunt i’ll have no problems helping this farmer thin his deer out. The rest of the season is for bow and a late culling doe tag in southern iowa if i decide too take one down there. I know i should fill 3 tags fairly easy.

A nice young doe has much tastier tender loins than a tough old trophy buck

This is my nephew Jake’s second year gun hunting. Jake helped the cause by taking a big doe Saturday afternoon at about 100 yards. He put his shot right in her boiler room! Here is a pix of Jake taking her across the creek. Where we hunt 4 wheeler aren’t suppose to be allowed so I brought my sled because they told me they had snow up there. It came in handy getting Jake’s and my doe out of the woods. They had to be half a mile back in the woods. Jake told me a bunch off 4 wheelers came in from another direction and hauled out a deer about 100 yards from his stand. HHHHMMMM????? By law they aren’t suppose to be in there with them. Seem to be people are gettin lazier year after year.

Jake told me he hadn’t worked out all week so draggin out the deer with the sled was like runnin with the parachute at football practice!

2 down last weekend. My group decided to pass on all small bucks and harvest does instead. A couple nice bucks, but went 29 for 22 on does. The last day we started passing on does as we had enough meat. And I still have bow, and Iowa to hunt. Should be good vitals this winter
