That buck has been given the name “Bear Creek Buck”, I’m sure I need not tell everyone why. I know the guy who registered it, and it is the biggest buck EVER registered at the Corral Bar. That in itself is saying alot about this deer, seeings how they register alot of the deer from this end of Buffalo and Pepin County. My brother happens to work with the guy up in Eau Claire but he was lacking alot of the details. Basically the gist of the story was the guy (Tom Lee) didn’t have a clue it was this big. He let it sit over night not sure about the hit and told his buddies it was “pretty nice”. I guess he was extremely supprised when he found it. Must have been “ground growage!!” Haven’t heard a green score yet but if I do I’ll post it here for all of you that want to know. The good thing about this deer, for me anyway, is that it was shot about 2 miles down the creek from where I hunt….hopefully his genes were passed on…on down the creek!

Ya never know what state is going to hold the new worlds record, hes a very nice one. From the pictures i’ve seen on the web i favor eighter Iowa, minnesota or wisconsin or the Dakotas and maybe kansas, what do you guys think? We sure have some big ones up here and big on the hoof too. We sure got em when they get to be over 250 pounds.

Very nice buck, would like to see a few more shots from the side and differetn angles. would have been super if it was cleaner, looks like a basic 10 point, with extra growth and non-typ points. VERY HEAVY MASS. been green scored yet?????

fish27, deer of that kind of mass is no accident. It does have to have the genetics, but more importantly, it has to survive to at least 4 1/2 to 6 1/2 years old. if it doesn’t grow into a mature deer, it can’t get the antler development. eating and minerals also play a big part too.

am hoping to see some other pics.

    Jack…
