I have heard from a source that the big 20 pointer is down in ND. He was shot Tuesday on adjacent farm where I hunt I had my encounter with him at the Pines on 10/30/05 and he was shot just North of a different farm I hunt 2 miles North of the Pines. The good part is rumor has it there is another Brusier that this buck may be confused with so either way there is still a giant out there This other deer was sighted Thursday afternoon @ 4pm form a very reliable source. This guy was on the adjacent farm to the pines to the West. He can’t verify for sure what Deer he encountered last night but he has has seen both prior. He just knows that it was one of the 2 bruisers and did not want to look at the rack any more. He was bow hunting and trying to get a shot off. The last thing you want to do with a buck of that size is stare at the rack . All sorts of funny things start happening to you if you do . He had him @ 40 yards but did not feel good about the shot opporutnity.

So not sure if the 20 pointer is down or not. Either way a 180 class buck is still up there and kickin for me My buddy ran down a group of bucks this morning dogging a doe down the pavement. The doe went into the ditch and the biggest one (150 class 5×5)mounted her right there in the ditch, with my buddies truk yards away. When he was finished he looked at the truck and his eyes got real big . He tore off back across the open field. So the rut must be coming to an end up there if the big boys are out chasing the does instead of being tied down with one.

    I leave tonight! I’m pumped

Isn’t this a line from Ghostbusters? Don’t stare at the rack? (or was it trap)!

Rob, do not fret. We have been watching a bruiser for a while, not that we see him often. Anyways, he frequents the open argicultural areas, in wooded water ways, where we hunt here in Illinois. He has at least 12 points to each side. WOWZA eh? Anyways, we heard that a monster got killed by a truck just 100 yards from where we see this bruit. We were bummed. Anyways, the farmer say him last week, got within 100 yards of him while mowing. This farmer makes his farms look like city yards. Anyways, we were excited that he was still alive. He was w/ a doe directly under by buds stand for over five hours one day. We still wondered if he made it through first day of Illinois gun season, and he did. Farmer say him withing 400 yards of the same spot. Do not give up hope. My belief is that there are huge, old bucks nearly everywhere. They just do not get that way by fluke. Know what I mean? Be positive and keep up the hope.

Yep it is confirmed Big Boy is down.

I saw him yesterday He did lose a brow tine that had 3-4 points on it total. We figure from the tape this is going to lose about 11-13 inches. He would of had 22 scorable points on him He is 203/8″ inside and will Gorss in the 180 range. He had a kicker when I saw him last Summer, but now is a drop .

The guy that shot him is my buddies neighbor and never saw the deer before . This bad boy and a monster 10 were fighting over a doe and both were so tired they could not even hold their heads up with there tounges a dragging. This big boy kicked the monster 10 out and chased him over the Paved road. When he came back in the hay field for the doe, the guy shot him and the buck went about 80 yards before expiring.

I have a picture that I will post with the skull and the shooter. I will downlaod today sometime. The pic does not do this buck justice It was incredible. . Right now they guess him @ 4.5 to 5.5 years old.judging form the teeth. Last year my buddy and another guy saw him in January and they guessed him in the 150″ class. So at least his genes are still out there
