Ok, so he may not be a true heavy weight, but tonight I have ended my 2005 MN quest for Mr. BIG ! I arrowed a nice 4×4 (8 point) buck that Green Gross’s around 139″ and nets in the 135″ range with a spread of a tad over 19″. It’s a very emotional time for me. I’m glad to have harvested a beatuy in MN, but also relaize I’m finished here for the year . Now it is off to ND chasing the 20 pointer

    Now it is time

    nice! Congrats,
I know how you feel, it is a great deer by anyones standards except yours
I am a tough spot now, time to start letting it fly, If I see either of the 3 I saw a couple different times this year they won’t be so lucky

I know Gut put a doe or two down last week. So we are looking decent G. I’m off to ND Friday for the big boys. Never shot 2 big bucks in a week

Bucky, I hear you, but I think this is a beauty buck, I’m just sad cause I know the quest has come to an end in MN . If I could sting out each season donw to the last sitting each year as I often do I would. I tell myself each year in MN and ND that if I think a buck is over 130, given an opportunity, I will shoot. But it seems that sometimes I’m reluctant or set my sights higher depending on what deer I have seen so far. But this guy looking to be pushing 140 was to tough to let go, especially in MN. ND could have been a different story .

I’m sure Rufus is pretty pumped though , cause it is birds full go the rest of the year

Sounds like a heck of a buck Lip. Probably a good feeling that all that hard work and time is finally starting to pay off. Good job!

Jack, I think I’m done on Mille Lacs for the year, unless we get a warm spell here. I probably will focus my fishing efforts to P2.
