Not a lot of luck hunting on Thursday or Friday. Saw deer but not sure what they were so couldn’t shoot. Boy it was foggy out Thursday morning and cold. Had much better luck on Saturday, with a real large doe and a medium one. After gutting and dragging the deer back to the truck I headed for home to call the local processor and they said they were only open till noon but would stick around untill I arrived. I wanted to keep one to bone out myself to turn into venison sticks but the weather was just too warm to risk it. After dropping them off I picked up some minnows at Smitty’s and hit the Chippewa River and ended up with a nice 17-18 inch walleye for supper.

I have heard that they schedule the t zone hunt for this time of the year because a lot of the school districts don’t have school on Thursday and Friday. It gives the younger hunters a chance to get out and hunt while most years it isn’t real cold. Just what I heard.
