Ripley Woes

    All I can say is, did Ripley, too many hunters, never again.

    If there are that many hunters there I can hardly believe a big buck would stay there.You bump a big one once he might stick around but bump him again he will leave. I would think this whole timber would smell really bad to a smart buck. Just my .02 cents

    Hunted Ripley this weekend, it was a lot of fun. There were a lot of hunters but they were pretty well spread out, we never had a problem with them walkin in on us. I have never seen deer in MN the size of two that were seen by our group, both close to 300lbs with massive racks. Both came in the same areas two days in a row. I would think that they are some what used to the comotion with all the people up there for the reserves plus with only 4 days of pressure a year there are plenty that make it through the year without the pressure that they would recieve everywhere else. Every area that we hunted had a lot of buck sign in it and it seems that a lot of the hunters are up there looking for a trophy buck, wich would lead one to think that the little ones are given the chance to grow. I would suggest it to anyone and I will definetly return.
