How many of you MN deer hunters use the All Season Deer License? This is my second year buying one and this will be the first year I hunt with a muzzleloader. For those of you that are not familiar with this license it allows you to hunt three seasons bow, shotgun, & muzzleloader, you get two tags with this license a buck tag and a doe tag. I hunt the 3A shotgun season bucks only, with one exception this will be the third year that you could apply for a doe permit for the buck season. This is a permit to take a doe on your buck license not an extra tag. Here is my question, with the All Season License if I draw a doe permit for 3A can I use the doe permit with the doe tag or do I have to use it on the buck tag? Are you confused yet????

Steve if they pick you for the Doe tag then you would get a card in the mail that will say you get to take a doe in the 3A season and the tag you would use is the doe tag they give you with the All season …Don’t put your buck tag on it or you can’t shoot a buck ……

I went the same route. Talk about confusing ! It is nice to be able to have one license for rifle and bow, which are what I use, though. Makes it easier for myself because I’ll be in different parts of the state at different times throughout the seasons.

    Thanks GMAN,
Yup I got the card in the mail a while ago and that is how I thought it worked but was not sure, on page 77 of the MN Regulations Hand book it talks about the All Season License but does not realy say which tag to use if you have the doe permit and with the DNR you just never know for sure what they are going to come up with next.

These licenses are very popular down here in SW MN. I sell 1 for every 2 archery/firearm. High power firearms are banned here, so a lot of people are buying muzzleloaders. The all season gives them both firearm seasons and muzzleloader season with their muzzleloader.

I might have to try that sometime Zimmy but I think Iowa is first on my list for out of state hunts.

Judging by the size of your buck last year probably nothing at all
