    GMAN’s 2005 MN shotgun buck.
Green score gross 142 and change.
You need to see this one in person to appreciate it.
We took many many pictures of it, none of which shows off his main frame. I’ll let GMAN tell the story.

Hope it’s okay to post this here. I’m not on anybody’s “team.”

Here’s my southern WI bowkill from 11/8/05. Kooty re-sized this pic for me so I could put it on another thread, but I thought this thread was more appropriate. Plus, I wanted to show it off some more

Haven’t had him scored yet. Anybody want to guess what he’ll go?

    Beauty Buck SMSmith !

Hard to say with only looking at one picture, but in a quick look here is what I got. I say he will gross 142″. Here is my thinking and #’s I come up with. Again remember only seeing one pic of him it is tough. G1=4″, G2=8″ G3=10″, G4=2″. That equals 24″, I gave him 23″ on his rails/beams and 16″ on his Thickness. That comes up to 63″ times that by two for the other side you come up with 126″. Add 16″ for the spread and you have 142″ gross. Do you have any measurements of tine length or spread to help me out? Again it is tough form one picture but that is my guess right now. I will take a little longer to verify tine length and might revise it

Again Congrats on a beauty with a bow to boot! I love the height of that rack

Oh yeah, he’s at the taxidermist now. That’s why I haven’t had him green scored.
I only rough taped him the night I got him. Here in the CWD HRZ you have 72 hours to get a buck caped out by a taxidermist and the head returned to the registration station. Therefore, I have only seen my new addition for a few hours
However, rough taping off the top of my head:
    G-1’s, 4.5″ and 6.5″
G-2s, both about 9.5″ (picture doesn’t do those justice)
    g-3’s, both about 10″
    G-4’s, 3″ and 1″
    One sticker point about 1″
    17″ inside spread
Don’t have beam length or mass, those are the scores holding me back from having a pretty good rough idea.
I do know the mass exceeds previous best. The mass on that one was 5.5″ at the bases and about 4″ out to the G-3’s.
Should have him back in January. Just in time for the 60 day drying period to be up!

Ok, with that info I think Scott might be closer.

I took averages and here is what I get from the info you gave me. G1=5.5, G2=9.5, G3=10, G4=2. That equals 27″. I will still go with 23″ on the beams and I will give you 17″ on thickness going off what you said. So that gives you 67″ per side, times 2 gives you 134″. Add your 17″ spread and that will gross you @ 151″. With 4″ of known deductions that you stated and I will take another 4-5″ for others. I’m guessing this buck will net in the low 140’s. Congrats again

Again looking at it I would say this buck would gross in the 140’s. But like Scott said an awesome buck no matter how you look at it.
