Here is my deer from gun season. It wasn’t the hog I was looking for but it will work. He was 7 1/2 to 8 1/2 years old, 188#, 18″ spread.

7-1/2 to 8-1/2 years old??????? That is very old for a deer. How did you find out that it was that old?

Nice buck Jeff and if he is in fact 7 1/2 to 8 1/2 years old that was a good management buck to take out of the heard as it is doughtfull that his rack would ever get any bigger than it is now. Good Job Jeff!!!

I would have guessed 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 years old. Nice buck though

Steve and Bob, a lot of the deer up in northern Wisconsin where we hunt get fairly old. There isn’t a lot of hunting presure and we manage really well around there. The way we found out how old it was….well there was a biologist at the registration station who aged the deer. I also had been taught how to age deer from courses I took when in high school. It has to do with what kind of teeth they have and how wore they are….This one had them wore really bad and missing a number of them…
