November 2, 2005 at 6:50 pm #11353Uffda, I would be a bit nervous pulling the trigger on that one. What if he fell in the mud a half hour ago and got a dirty snoot???
Did he have pink eyes and nose? Can’t really tell from the pics.
I have seen this bad boy the last two gun seasons. I have looked him over for “legalities”, and just can’t find any. Plus, all the landowners out there would throw a fit if I shot him. This pic is from 3 years ago. He had about the same rack last year, and the next 2 posts will be a pic from about a month ago.

November 2, 2005 at 6:53 pm #11347Pic 2 2005. I think the tines were actually longer the last two years, but are getting thicker each year.

November 9, 2005 at 2:28 pm #11667This buck my friend JJ arrowed monday night. He didn’t get into the stand until four and had a fork go by, by four fifteen. Then at five this guy came trotting through nose down at ten yards. He couldnt stop it so shot on the move and thought he hit it back towards the guts. That being the case we gave it four hours before we even looked for blood. When we got back in the woods to start tracking we could here coyotes snapping at eachother at the bottom of the hill (200 yards). We took this as a good sign and started to track with haste. We found almost NO blood. This we figured was becuase the deer took off at about mock ten after he was hit. Just about to the bottom of the hill and still only blood about every TEN to FIFTEEN yards… I catch something out of the corner of my light beam and go back to it to see a buck layed over on its back in the ditch. Upon inspection the coyotes had just started to dig in. they didn’t even have the guts out yet but had the skin ripped out on the bellie. All and all it was a great hunt. All EXCEPT for the drag up the side of the bluff. If anyone knows what the hills are like around mount lacrosse (where the buck was taken) than you can feel my pain.
